Retromobile 2025

Retromobile 2025: the largest Citroën-Kegresse exhibition to date!

The life of Adolphe Kégresse, a behind the scenes figure who played a substantial role in the creation of the “Citroën Cruises” is one worthy of a novel. This little-known figure will be the focus of a unique exhibit at the 49th edition of Rétromobile, from 5 to 9 February 2025.

Adolphe Kégresse was a prodigious character whose inventions played a major part in the development of the motor car and its history, yet his name remains largely unfamiliar to the general public. Overshadowed by his inventions and renowned business partners, the life of this adventurous engineer was both exciting and tumultuous. From his native Franche-Comté to his collaboration with André Citroën, not forgetting his role as adviser to Tsar Nicholas II and his exile following the October Revolution, his life will be the focus of a first-time retrospective on the Pont des Expositions at the world's most exciting pop-up garage. For the occasion, no fewer than a dozen half-tracked vehicles, designed by Adolphe Kégresse himself, will be travelling through mechanical history to pay a vibrant tribute to their creator.

Xavier Garnier had managed to gather a total of 12 cars for the exhibition. The stars of the exhibition were the two surviving cars from the first traverse de Sahara: the “Croissant d’argent” from the museum de Saint-Jean-d’Angély and the “Scarabée d’or” from L’Aventure Citroën.

For the first time since their return from the Sahara, they stand side by side.

Thanks to Xavier Garnier for the enormous work that made the exhibition a reality.
